My 5 Quick & Easy Dinners
I cannot tell you how many times I have walked into the house and realized that.... oh shoot, I need to make dinner. There are certain foods in the house that are staples. Like pasta noodles, ground turkey, alfredo sauce, chicken tenders, fries just to name a few. We always, always keep our staple items in the house for those days when we just don’t know what to cook or didn’t plan anything to cook. Here are five quick and easy dinners that I’m going to share that we usually lean on in the time of need.
I can literally cook spaghetti with ground turkey with my eyes closed. All you need is noodles of your preference, Bertolli spaghetti sauce—there are different flavors, and ground turkey. Then to just spice it up a little bit, you can throw some garlic toast in the oven, make a side salad, and dinner is ready.
Before taco Tuesday even became known as taco Tuesday, we were doing taco Tuesday. Tacos are so easy to make and you can use whatever meat of your preference whether it be chicken, ground turkey, ground beef, or even shrimp. Of course, you will need soft or hard shells OR if you prefer nachos you will need tortilla chips. Plus, all of your toppings which can include sour cream, cheese, onions, jalapeños, salsa, guacamole. Basically, anything that you like to put on your tacos/nachos and dinner is ready!
This meal is so easy! All you have to do is go to Kroger and purchase the stir fry kit of your choice. The kit differs based upon the sauce flavor—teriyaki, mandarin orange, ginger garlic, and sesame chili. We typically just choose a protein of our choice and then we will also cook a pot of rice to go with it. It’s basically a stir fry rice bowl. With the protein, rice, and veggies, dinner is complete.
Now this is a classic meal. I can remember growing up and my mom cooking sloppy joes for dinner. I thought it was the best thing in the world. My husband typically makes this meal. He said all you have to do is season your meat and add your favorite barbecue sauce. We usually just throw in some fries and that’s our meal for the night.
Chicken tenders & fries
When no creativity exists and you really do not care what you eat. We just throw some chicken tenders and fries in the air fryer. We have the FrenchMay air fryer and we love it, because it reduces the mess and time that is required to fry food. Plus, it’s way healthier.
If you get a chance to make any of these meals, let me know how it worked out for you. In the meantime, be sure to subscribe to my email list to stay up to date with Brown Mommy Diary.
